A surprise..not necessarily a good or a bad one..but nevertheless surprising. During this week I was also faced with a load of challenges, some of which I was prepared for, or rather warned about…others came as, a surprise.
Before I embark on a monotonous road-blog ( I’m hoping I don’t ), I would like to write about a few changes that have occurred and left a significant mark on my present life.
First of all last weekend I had the great opportunity to attent a Christian live-in organized by y4j (youths4jesus). Even though it was my second livein of the sort..surprisingly enough, there was much more in store for me. ‘Stronger’, as it was called, did infact make me a stronger Christian witness, ready to go against the flow and live the good news of Jesus
Secondly, isn’t it amazing how many people want to help you as soon as you start the school journey? That is, until they realise that you’ve already booked your journey tickets with someone else…well that’s the awkward reality expected in any society which has opened it’s doors for political parties. And here’s the sad part, it’s normally the only common ground that all political parties walk on. Many times these organization meetings tend to fall in the ”Us and Them” background. “We’re black…they’re white.” “We’re good…they’re bad.” And, this time, it’s not surprising that only a few are those, and rare are the occassions when a member of these parties says, “We’re good because…”…”We’re white because…”
And please if any member of any party happens to be reading this..for all our sake’s, don’t tell me, ”Join our party cause we hold better parties.” Basically, I couldn’t care less about these parties, I joined an organization because I believed that this organization looks at my future as a student with a certain perspective that other organizations disregard. In my opinion, if you’re elected in council because you throw brilliant parties once a month, then I’m sorry but you had better joined the Maltese clubbing authority. I’m interested in the organization who will fight for my rights such as my stipend, my right to learn, my right to have a reasonable number of free hours, my right to join extra curricular activities, my right to speak out my opinion without being looked down upon…and because I feel that students do deserve more..I have in fact joined SDM.
My crticism won’t cease and I am developing no soft spot for the party, but at this point I believe that I undoubtedly made the right choice.
Take care,

Well, it’s 15 minutes to the end of another day, a day which I will never have the chance to live again, and I’m merely contemplating on what I did throughout the day; nothing. I have wasted yet another morning of my life…the one with a deadline. It feels awkward now, but up to this morning I thought I was attending interesting meetings and hence succeeding in being the ever excited 1st year student ready to face the world with her limited knowledge of her choice of subjects. Sounds silly doesn’t it? Truth is, I doubt anyone performed an ever more fruitful task today. I did meet an interesting guy however, which sort of gave my day an interesting spin…well, is that it? Do we base our day-ratings, learnings, tasks and activities on people we meet or are they simply an amusing addition to what would otherwise be a boring day?
Going slightly deeper…are you being used as an amusement scheme for that girl who has no one to go out with? Or with that guy who just needs a woman? And you sir…are you simply serving your ‘friends’? Are you just being a ‘man’ with your girl just to feel good and make her feel safe?
Since when did life start to depend on feelings?…I remember the times when I looked at a guy and just saw a woman with no boobs and facial hair. Now I look at a guy and unconsciously, mentally evaluate his looks, hair, clothes, over-all appearance and attitude. And it feels ever so disturbing as I type this down, especially when I know I’m saying the truth.
We’ve boiled people down to necessary objects, and somehow turned objects into necessary souls. I’m not sure if I’m to blame time, age, the world…or merely our generation.
I have just one suggestion to make at the end of this post, pause on purpose. The Son of God pause on purpose, he caught a boat to be alone, what makes you think you can do without a pause? You can’t. The only reason you think you can is because you’re scared that the world will need you…or that it won’t….Keep thinking,

So you’re probably thinking what I’m going on about with the odd domain, and the weird title…and really, I’m just as close to asking myself that question.
How many times have you said ‘no thanks’ today? It seems to be a phrase we overlook, never give much importance to. In actual fact we all use it quite often, it’s a phrase which expresses our desire for something, or rather our rejection for it. Many times unfortunately used without the friendly ‘thanks’, ‘no’ seems to have a negative connotation when in actual fact, ‘no’ is as positive as ‘yes’!
No, I’m not taking you on a ride back to primary school…just an introduction to, I admit, a rather odd blog.
What about the identified stranger? A bit of a paradox don’t you think…a stranger isn’t usually identified. Having started 6th form at Junior College just now, freshers week to be exact, we are all identified strangers ot eachother. We’re all strangers, yet we all know some details about one another. Being such a person makes you feel like a number..and being one of over 3000 students, makes you feel like a smaller number than you can imagine. It’s as though being considered a number isn’t bad enough, you have to be one of many too. Looking at it from another point of view, it also means we all have this one thing in common…and together, as a school, this label will be erased naturally, as is done wit many labels in every small, even large, society. How long will it be? I have no clue…
Anyway, welcome to my blog…please don’t let the weird post get to you..just blame it on the weather, and the fact that I shopped in the rain
Take care
